Hello there, my name is Naphtali Crouse. I entered the beauty industry in 2000 working as a makeup artist. It was then that my passion was sparked for the hair industry. I attended PCI and graduated in 2003. I immediately loved hair color and that became my specialty for over my entire 20-year career as a stylist. Throughout my career I have seen it ALL when it comes to hair, I’ve tackled more challenges than I can count on a head of hair! I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and getting to know the wonderful people along the way. During my journey I have studied hair color extensively, hair extensions and hair thinning treatments and regrowth methods. I have attended and taught more educational events than you will care to read about… so I will spare you! HA!
I have also become interested in color analysis and studied several analysis methods. Once I discovered House of Colour services, it was like all of the pieces of the puzzle fell into place. I loved the guidance of hair color by season and haircuts that fit your Clothing Personality. When I’m not in the salon I enjoy spending time with my husband and three very busy children. We’re either outside when the sun is shining or running our kids all over Ankeny to their many activities!
I am currently not seeing clients as a hairstylist. I’m fully committed to being a teacher and leader to my team.

Hi! My name is Abbey Longstreet and I am an Iowa native. I spent my formative years in the Des Moines area and I am now proud to call Blend & Bright in Ankeny my work home.
I have been a stylist since 2012, and I pride myself on being part of a salon with a super chill and friendly ambiance. While I greatly enjoy discussing our latest Netflix binges, I also love that our salon can provide some relatively uninterrupted relaxation. I have been a color specialist for over ten years, but I really feel like my work has shined the most since coming to Blend & Bright. Having the knowledge of coloring according to season, really helps me “hit it out of the park”. Whether you’ve had your colors done or not, I pride myself on working together with my clients to find a color that’s most complimentary to their skin tone and lifestyle. I love color with longevity! And I greatly enjoy creating hair color that uniquely compliments each of my clients even more! My goal is for you to leave with beautiful hair, so you can feel like the best version of you.
When I’m not in the salon, I’m probably watching tv with my dog Glen, planning my next trip or concert, or kicking serious butt at trivia! If you sit in my chair, chances are I will probably ask you what you’re watching or about your favorite restaurants in town. I will also probably tell you about mine. Howdy! My name is Emma, and I am originally from Texas and blessed to be a hairstylist at Blend & Bright Salon, where I bring passion and purpose to my work. I am trained not only in providing a typical service but also in creating a luxury experience for my guests. My mission is to provide a relaxing environment with special and unique “awe” moments to enhance your salon visit and have you leave my chair with confidence!
I attended PCI Academy and have been a hairstylist for over five years. I am thankful to love what I do. My passions and specialties are hair color and extensions. I pride myself in ensuring my skills are up-to-date and on-trend by always educating myself and taking professional classes regularly.
When I’m not doing the coolest job ever, I’m doing the best task ever- being a mom to my two boys. This includes building blocks, playing catch, reading books, drawing, and so much more! I love the creativity that comes with motherhood and they bring me so much joy!

Hello, I’m Haley! I grew up in northern Iowa and am so happy to be serving you at Blend & Bright Salon! I graduated from the Professional Cosmetology Institute in 2017. Since graduating, I have been serving the Ankeny community in helping you achieve your hair and makeup goals. I’ve also found a genuine passion for education in this field. I am constantly studying how to bring you the most up-to-date and on-trend looks.
I enjoyed attending the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas and The Redken Exchange in New York, where I learned advanced color techniques. I enjoy sharing my education by showing you new ways to use products and style your hair in a way that makes your everyday life easier. Through my experience as a stylist I have also enjoyed being a mentor to my teammates in hair color and hair cutting.
In addition, I love providing luxury services for my guests in a beautiful, relaxing environment. It brings me such joy when I see you enjoying how amazing you look and feel when you leave the salon! My time outside of doing hair and my job is mainly spent with my husband, two boys, and my dogs! We love going outside, playing with trucks, or chasing the dogs around our yard. Hello all! My name is Edina and I am so excited to have joined the Blend and Bright team. I was born and raised in Bosnia, but I moved to the states in the early 2000s.
I’ve been behind the chair since 2009 after graduating from CHS (now known as the Professional Academy) in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I love seeing my clients leave with a smile on their face. If you’re looking for a balayage or blonding work, you’ve come to the right place, and I especially enjoy working with long hair!
My husband and I moved to Des Moines in September of 2023. When I’m not making your hair dreams come true, you can find me finding inspiration for my house on HGTV and hanging out with my husband and our cats! You can also find me on the tennis courts or discovering a new travel destination!

I have always found interest in enhancing my knowledge, whether that be from peers or professional classes. I strive for myself to learn quickly, as it is so exciting to me that I get to see your face light up after a service with me.
When I’m not in the salon, I’m most likely soaking up as much sun as I can in the summertime! Shopping with my sister to find the best deals is a common occurrence. Hi everyone, I’m Shelbie!
I am an esthetician and cosmetologist at Blend and Bright. I’m from a tiny town called Jamaica, IA. I graduated from PCI Academy in March of 2022. Just two months later, I returned to PCI to further my knowledge and obtain my cosmetology license! Don’t get me wrong, I love everything my esthetician license has to offer! I specialize in body waxing, scalp health, and lash extensions.
I truly strive to make all my guests look and feel their best. My goal is to be able to provide you the ultimate experience whether it’s a relaxing day at the spa, or a luxury lash service. I pride myself on being a teachable service provider, always learning from my peers and looking for ways to gain knowledge and enhance your experience with me!

I got my colors done early on in 2020 and it really changed my life! I walked into my appointment being really confident I already knew my season. I had been a hair color specialist for many years. So when it came to analyzing people’s eyes, hair color and skin tone, I thought I knew it all!
During my appointment I learned there were many gaps in my own understanding of personal coloring. It truly blew me away when I saw the process with my own eyes. Guess what… I was not accurate in my assessment of what my season was.
When I had my style class I was again blown away by the depth of information I received that was life changing for me! It has been such a fun journey to know how to dress my body confidently, as well as pairing that with displaying my personality through my wardrobe. Kyla is so excited to join the House of Colour team, she operates her beautiful studio out of her home in Ankeny! Kyla was gifted a color analysis at a time when she was not feeling her most confident. Finding out her “wow” colors instantly changed how she saw herself. From that point on, Kyla encouraged everyone that commented on how great a color looked on her to have their colors done. Soon after Kyla booked her style appointment and fell in love with the whole process, science, and ease of being able to put an outfit together and shine from the inside out.

We will also include product recommendations that will be perfectly suited for your needs.
